About

I currently work as a freelance journalist, reporting, writing, and editing for print and digital platforms, articulating difficult or confusing information, creating and optimizing meaningful and useful content, always considering user experience. I usually report on food, drink, restaurants, architecture, design, travel, and people.

My work has appeared in many publications, including Afar, CNN, Mark Bittman’s Heated, Interior Design (I had a monthly column online), The Hartford Courant, The Observer and Commercial Observer, The New York Post (dozens of lifestyle pieces), The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Travel & Leisure.

I am also the senior writer for Columbia University Medical Center’s Health Insights blog and newsletter.

This is a picture of me at the U.S. Open. I’m smiling because I am happy, love New York, and great people.

I’ve worked with a variety of organizations, developing and executing communications projects. Past clients include Bloomberg, Central Park Conservancy, Conde Nast, Ford Foundation, McGraw-Hill Education, The Pulitzer Prizes, and Columbia Law School.

Once upon a time I created a site where sports and food intersected: Scoreboard Gourmet. It had more than 10,000 visitors a month. I’m sorry I lost the domain. Occasionally I post on Medium and TikTok and Substack.

Please email me to discuss projects.

Please do not add me to distribution lists without talking to me first. Thank you.
